Abstract

This post-doctoral project seeks to develop systematic and in-depth research on African critical thought in Psychology and how it can contribute to a decolonization project of this science and the Affirmative Action Policies in the Brazilian context. It will be a qualitative literature research that will identify, analyze and systematize knowledge in order to implement public policies that may impact or build a new project of nation and society. The work will investigate references such as Critical African Studies in Psychology; Colonization and Decolonization of Knowledge; Liberation Thought; South Epistemologies; Afro-Brazilian Population and Culture. The proposal aims to develop research, extension project and teaching activities, as well as the establishment of a international cooperation network with Portuguese-speaking African countries and Latin America countries over a period of two years. This project will be developed through the following actions: publication of three articles in journals of excellence and one book; production of technical material that focus training teachers and educational practices in order to implementing Law 10.639 / 2003 in Brazil; four supervisions of Scientific Initiation projects and co-orientations of graduate researches; opening a study and research group; extension course for undergraduate and graduate students; establishment of cooperation network between Brazil and other countries in a South-South perspective.
