Abstract

The project will be carried out to evaluate the performance of pacu Piaractus mesopotamicus, tambaqui Colossoma macropomum and hybrids, farmed in cages, under different feeding programs. The diallel cross between the two species will be performed by artificial reproduction, generating four genetic groups: Pacu and Tambaqui (pure), and Tambacu and Paqui (hybrids). The fish will be reared separately by genetic group in ponds until the juvenile phase (30 grams), when they will be distributed in a production system in cages located in the fish farming sector of APTA Regional Pole of the Ribeira Valley. Three food programs will be evalueted: P1 - only 1 phase, 22% CP during the farming; P2 - 2 stages: 28% and 22% CP according to the growth phase; and P3 - 3 stages: 32%, 28% and 22% PB, according to the growth phase. Every 30 days, a sample of 10 fish will be held for each experimental unit, that will be weighed and measured. Limnological parameters are measured monthly to determine the physical, chemical and biological water variables. Performance data obtained will be submitted to analysis of variance as a statistical model that consider the effects of the food program, the mating system (pure or crossed) and genetic group within mating system. For the parameters of water quality, multiple comparisons between groups or sampling areas will be realized.
