Abstract

The aim of this research is o determine the low-level laser action on the growth of human keratinocytes in vitro. Justification: There are many burn victims who need skin graft in Brazil. The limitations of organ donation difficult to treat all of them. Therefore, in vitro techniques that enable higher production of keratinocytes cooperate with the social demand. The low intensity laser is promising in this regard because it showed effects on cell proliferation. Method: it will be used human keratinocyte culture ,that will be divide into the same number of samples and then it will be irradiate low intensity laser. Some of the sample will be irradiated after 4 hours of growth stabilization, and some others, after 12 hours. It will be performed the total of 4 sessions each group, with 12 hours interval between them. Each sample will has the laser application at a single point of the Petri dish. The control group will have the same parameters except for the laser application. It will be measured the amount of keratinocytes in all samples for statistical analysis. Expected results: low-intensity laser will promote an increase in the number of keratinocytes and cell aggregation in vitro.
