Abstract

The low intensity laser may accelerate the proliferation of fibroblasts and differentiation of osteoblasts in the process of regeneration and bone formation. Due to absence of studies in the literature about the influence of low intensity laser on pulp tissue of deciduous teeth, further studies with different treatment options should be performed. Thus, the objective of this project is to investigate the low intensity laser effects of different energy densities on growth and viability of fibroblasts pulp of human deciduous teeth. During extractions of human deciduous teeth samples of pulp tissue will be obtained and grown in specific culture. After the fourth passage, the sample will be irradiated with low intensity laser to the following groups: GI - (1.2 J/cm2 - 05 mW - 10s ), GII (2.5 J/cm2 - 05 mW - 20s), GIII (3.7 J/cm2 - 05 mW - 30s), GVI (5.0 J/cm2 - 05 mW - 40s), GV (6 , 2 J/cm2 - 05 mW - 50s), GVI (no irradiation). After irradiation, the cells will be collected for the experiments of cell viability by MTT method. After collection, the data will be analyzed by means of graphs and tables, by using ANOVA test followed by Tukey test. In this period, 2 evaluators will carry out the assessments. If necessary, other tests may be applied. The significance level of 5% will be adopted for the differences considered statistically significant.(AU)
