In order to reduce infections caused by bacterial contamination an increasing search to materials for the control of microorganisms has been made. However, considering that the total construction of a base of implant supported prostheses with an acrylic resin incorporated with antimicrobial material may have reduced mechanical strength, an alternative would be the incorporation of the same only in regions with higher microbial contamination, increasing the longevity of the rehabilitation treatment and avoiding failures. The nanostructured silver vanadate decorated with AgNPS (²-AgVO3), has shown good results in the control of oral microorganisms. In this study 30 specimens of acrylic resin (Clássico Artigos Odontológicos®) will be made from the inclusion of metal matrix of cylindrical shape with dimensions of Ø 13 mm by 23 mm high in metal flasks. To obtain the specimens ²-AgVO3 it will be incorporated in auto polymerizing acrylic resin in 2.5 and 5% percentages by mass. The union resistance of the three groups (n = 10): G1 - conventional resin x conventional resin; G2 - conventional resin x resin with 2.5% ²-AgVO3; G3 - conventional resin x resin with 5% ²-AgVO3, will be evaluated by shear strength and stereomicroscopy. The data will be analyzed statistically in Minitab software version 18.104.22.168, with normality and homogeneity tests to define the use of parametric or non-parametric analysis.
