Abstract

This study aims to characterize, to compare and to relate the visual skills and reading processes in students with Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with good academic performance. 30 students, of both genders, aged eight to twelve years old, divided into two groups: Group I (GI): composed of 15 students with interdisciplinary diagnosis of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder and Group II (GII): composed of 15 students with good academic performance paired with GI will participate in this study. All students will be submitted to application of Reading Processes Evaluation Protocol (PROLEC) and Visual Perception Development Test - III (DTVP III). The application of these procedures shall be made individually with the students from each group. The results will be statistically analyzed using the Mann-Whitney Test aiming to verify differences between groups for the variables of interest tests and to characterize and to compare the performance between the groups. The degree of relation between the visual skills and reading processes will be verified by the Spearman Correlation analysis test. (AU)
