Abstract

This research project aims to provide an overview on accessibility, by seeking to understand its applications in broadcasting systems, and by emphasizing the production of this resource known as Audio Description. It consists in an intersemiotic translation from the visual channel to the oral channel for the purpose of catering to visually impaired. For that, an audiovisual work having young people as the target audience will be analyzed. Observations will be made about the production and application of audio description with the aim to propose a new way of making audiovisual contents accessible. An integral adaptation of the audiovisual work will be prioritized in order to meet the target audience's demands, composed by young visually impaired, who have just one channel of perception, the ear canal. Therefore, the Audio Description should be most faithful as possible to the original.
