Abstract

This study aims to investigate, alongside the portuguese elderly, influences and computer learning resonances in sociability of them. For this purpose, a qualitative research will be carried out with semi-open interviews, along with, at least, three participants of the program Informatics III, the University Contemporary Sr., located in Porto, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. António Manuel Godinho da Fonseca from Portuguese Catholic University, campus of Porto. The previously prepared questionnaire will include questions that aim to characterize the group profile to be studied, besides as issues related to computer use, social networks and others. To analyze the results, the Content Analysis method will be used, as proposed by Bardin (2009). This would be a useful opportunity to meet a Portuguese model and Senior University of the Third Age Universities Network - RUTIS, with the intention of understanding the organization and the projects developed by the elderly. We understand that the exchange of experiences will promote a qualitative leap in our research, as we will be able to establish contact with portuguese elderly who use the computer and new technologies in a different context, contributing to a comparison with the survey data obtained from project in development.
