Abstract

In function of legal requirements, growing pressure from national and international institutions about environmental protection, ecological restoration projects are being adhered representing, therefore, an essential role in the degraded ecosystem recovery. It very important not only the execution of such projects, but also the realization of studies to evaluate if the restored ecosystems will be able to sustain itself. From this explanation, the present project proposes evaluate if the process of regeneration of a restored fragment of "Floresta Estacional Semidecidual" in Mata Atlântica is occurring, then the regenerating species will be identified, possible relations between climate conditions and species composition will be found and so an edge effect evaluation on the restored area of Restoration will be done. The Study will be developed in a restored area in the municipality of Rosana-SP (The Pontal do Paranapanema region). The regional climate is Cwa according to a classification of Köppen. The planting was concluded 25 years ago. The related plant species to this project theme (trees, shrubs, vines, herbs and epiphytes) will be properly collected in vegetative or reproductive phase. For the edge effect evaluation about regeneration, these plots will be allocated in different distances from the edge and then will be taken brightness, temperature and humidity data. The consideration of the importance of using high diversity of species and genetic allows that a restored forest recompose important ecological processes found in natural forests.
