Abstract

Self-purification is the process in which a hydroys body has the ability to recover their physical, chemical and biological characteristics after the change induced by organic effluent discharges. In this way will be analyzed self-purification capacity of Ribeirão of Rancharia, located in the city of Rancharia - SP, through the dissolved oxygen monitoring and biochemical oxygen demand in Ribeirão, considering that this takes a lot of effluent from the Sewage Treatment Staition in the city and two refrigerators, but also the Ribeirão of Lavadeira suffering urban influence during his route. The modeling section contains four sections of monitoring, of which two are upstream of the launch, one the sewage release point and one downstream release. To determine the self-purification capacity of the Ribeirão of Rancharia be used SisBaHiA® mathematical model hydrodynamic, wherein the chemical reaction kinetics parameters are analyzed, the hydraulic characteristics and coefficients reaeration, deoxygenation and biochemical oxygen demand removal. Finally, in order to calibrate the model, the changes in their coefficients will be held in all monitoring sections in order to get as close as possible results of the natural characteristics of Ribeirão, searching through the data found, get a greater control over water quality.
