Abstract

Serological and lung lesions survey in slaughter pigs is a useful endpoint to collect data on herd health status which can be used to evaluate the risk factors for disease. Moreover, abattoir measurements are a valuable tool for monitoring the effect of disease control measures. However there are few studies about the porcine respiratory disease complex in Brazilian pig herd. The aim of this study is to carry out an epidemiological survey of mains respiratory infections in pigs of 30 batches of pigs belonging to an equal number of herds of State of São Paulo whose animals will be evaluated during the production period by clinical, serological, pathological tests and at slaughterhouse by cranioventral pulmonary consolidation (enzootic pneumonia-like lesions) and chronic pleuritis lesions and blood samples to seroprevalence tests. It is intended to associated this lung lesions to batches seroprevalence results to Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae e Swine Influenza. Lung lesions and serology to different swine respiratory pathogens will be correlated to a farm questionnaire. All analysis will be carried out with chi-square statistic and univariable multivariable
