Abstract The purpose of this project is to obtain, alongside with FAPESP, the financial support for an exchange program by means of the Foreign Research and Internship Scholarship (Bolsa Estágio de Pesquisa no Exterior - BEPE) in Italy, more precisely in the University of Milan-Bicocca (Dipartimento di Scienze Umane per la Formazione "Riccardo Massa") under the coordination of Professor Vittorio Morfino PhD. It is an exchange that intents to follow up the former studies aimed to understand the resonances between Lucretius and Spinoza, accurately working on the central theme of the distinction between teleological necessity and aleatory necessity. In the exchange stage, the goal is to understand the last part of the present research focusing on the theory of imagination in both authors, specifically advancing the hypothesis that both have a materialist theory of imagination as, at the same time, a mechanism to justify rationally the human superstitions and as a process of individuation in community, in another terms, the break with the antinomian couple individuality/community. This second aspect was first developed by Étienne Balibar and deeply extended and worked by Morfino with the major concept of transindividual, even in the relationship between Lucretius and Spinoza.
