Abstract

The objective of this research project is to investigate the Peace Studies through the activities of Spanish non-governmental organizations and peace research centers. The methodology consists firstly in surveying relevant literature of this field of study at the Interuniversity Institute of Social Development and Peace (IUDESP), in order to review Spanish academics' findings on Peace Communications and Journalism. The documents to be investigated will provide theoretical basis for the next stage of this research. During this part, we will perform in-depth interviews with NGOs' and research centers' members and activists, which will assist our understanding on how these organizations collaborate on the dissemination of peace culture. Meanwhile, we will analyze journalistic content and communication material produced by NGOs. The collected data will allow the articulation between the panorama of the Peace Communications in Spain and the performance of alternative media in Brazil. (AU)
