Abstract This research project deals with the enhancement assigned to individuality in the contemporary period, where there are changes in the possibilities of the subject invest in their difference, moving away therefore the social arrangement ordered by tradition. Adopted as a result of this phenomenon, the growth of people living alone, that occurred during the last decades in Brazil and also internationally. The literature on the theme of individualization is divergent from each other, behaving scenarios of a society hooked by narcissism and on the other hand, underlining the individual's emancipation perspective. In view of this, it will be undertaken a statistical survey on the prevalence of individual residence among college a public education institution, located in a small town in the interior of then interviews will be conducted with 05 students between 18-25 years, the purpose of investigating the practices and senses of living alone. Thus, we intend to build a third way of meanings, which will be taken as a basis for producing the interweaving of theoretical concepts hitherto dissonant. | |
