The purpose of this study is a longitudinal assessment of dimensions' changes of the dental arches of children with cleft lip and palate from the five-year-old. The sample will be consisted of digital models of patients with complete cleft lip (Group 1), complete cleft lip and palate (Group 2), complete cleft palate (Group 3), and without cleft lip and palate (Group 4). The measure of dental arch will be obtained of the dental models and digitized using a Scanner 3Shape's R700TM and analyzed using 3D Software Appliance Designer. The following measures will be obtained: intercanine distance, intertuberosity distance, anterior-posterior arch depth, and area of the dental arch. Student's t-test and analysis of variance, followed by Tukey test will be used to determine the significance of differences between groups within the same assay. If necessary, other tests may be applied. The significance level of 5% will be adopted for the differences considered statistically significant.
