Abstract

The integrity of the intestinal microflora is essential for homeostasis of the organism and for its maintenance the supplementation of prebiotics, probiotics and symbiotic plays a key role. Thus, the aim of this study is to assess population mass changes of the bacteria Lactobacillus spp, Bifidobacterium spp and Escherichia coli in the intestinal tract of rats subjected to passive smoking and supplementation of prebiotics, probiotics and symbiotic. To this end, 96 rats norvegicus species Wistar strain will be used aged 21 to 25 days divided into eight groups of 10 rats in each group. Control Group (CG) = basal diet; Control Group Smoking (GCT) = basal diet with exposure to smoking; Prebiotic Group (PG) = basal diet incorporated with 1g of Immunowall® per kg diet; Prebiotic smoker group (GPT) = basal diet incorporated with 1 g Immunowall® per kg diet with exposure to smoking; Probiotic group Proenzime (GPRO) = basal diet incorporated with 2g of probiotic Proenzime® per kg diet; Probiotic Proenzime smoker group (GPROT) = basal diet incorporated with 2g of probiotic Proenzime® per kg diet with exposure to smoking; Symbiotic Group (GS) = basal diet incorporated with 1 g of prebiotic Immunowall® + 2g probiotic Proenzime®; Symbiotic Smoking Group (GST) = basal diet incorporated with 1 g of Immunowall® + 2g probiotic Proenzime® per kg diet. The animals will be exposure to smoking 2 times a day for 30 minutes during 100 days. To determine the variation of intestinal microbiota, the feces collected samples will have their DNA extracted for quantification of 16rDNA gene by real-time PCR for Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and E. coli. The data obtained will be compared and statistical analysis will be performed using the straight-line method. (AU)
