Abstract

The proposed research project focuses on the area of Electrical Circuits, especially in the topic known as Power Theories. Recent Researches in this line aim to discuss and propose new formulas for the calculation of current and power components that represent the circuit operation and electrical systems, with sinusoidal waveforms or not, balanced or not, with linear or non linear loads. In this context, it is known that most power theories proposed in the last decades are applicable only on steady state, leaving the analysis of transient conditions for other types of formulations and mathematical tools. In this work, the Conservative Power Theory, proposed by Tenti et al. in 2010, will be evaluated with special attention to electrical circuits operating in non-stationary conditions. Although the formulations of this theory take into account implicitly stationary and periodic signals, it is believed that the decomposition proposed for the terms of current, power and energy may be valid and / or expanded for characterization or interpretation of circuits in transient conditions. Thus, the objective of this project is the study and interpretation of the Conservative Power Theory, trying to understand the behavior of current components and decomposed power and its correlation with physical phenomena characteristic of circuits in transient conditions.
