Abstract

This research aims to understand and analyze the cooperative movement in the Rural Landless Workers Movement (MST) of the São Paulo Midwest, especially the importance of cooperatives in creating ways of working emancipated in rural areas. It is part of FAPESP research entitled "Destructive Production, Agroecology, Associate Labor and Education in Agroecology Landless Movement" (Process 2014 / 19013-8).As we all know the landlord matrix, slavery and export left deep marks in our history. In the 1980s, the MST has emerged as one of the main movements antagonistic to this matrix, to question the large ownership of land, the way it is organized labor in rural areas, the education system and more recently the movement started to advocate the need for production of healthy food. As regards the production and marketing, it is important to note how to set up the struggle and resistance of the settlers after the conquest of the earth, through cooperation (spontaneous) and cooperative (institutionalized) as tools for the construction of new forms of organization work in rural areas. Among the methodological procedures, we can highlight the literature review, document analysis and interviews. (AU)
