Abstract

Since the mid-sixteenth century, hundreds of news nourish pages of folder, relations, diaries, and materials that has no regularity but was published in major cities and markets to customers primarily interested in news concerning the government and war. Between the years 30 and 40 of the seventeenth century, starts in different countries of Europe the production of called Gazettes and Mercuries, nevertheless, which intention is to cycle periodically through the main cities of the continent, and counting with a series of publications eligible for bookbinding during a certain period. The non-periodic papers, however, continued to be producing, often printed by the same people who produced the gazettes and supplying them with new manuscripts, arising from many parts of the world. At the beginning of our research, we realized that the periodical publications itself was just the conclusion, the close of something more complex, where information could come form distant lands and had passed through many hands until it became a news diffuser. There are laws behind it that allow or not for its publication, dozens of printed news and manuscripts compiled by editors - transcribing or translating, but also adapting them to the periodical publication proposal - information networks that runs through the continent, printers, etc. Even if there is certain online material available, we understand that the research in the Iberians collections and the consulting to the European bibliography will be fundamental to our work, bringing a new dimension to that we propose to accomplish. The current propose seeks to justify the importance of the research internship to improve the development of our doctorate project. (AU)
