Abstract This project tries to fill a gap in the literature and industry for interaction design in applications on mobile, for older users, in order to support the development of tools for e-health care application in digital media. Objectives: 1) Identify guidelines, requirements and interests for custom tablets and apps with users older than 60 years. 2) Investigate a concept of tool that can serve as the basis for future development of transcultural assistive technology and products for e-health in dementia care, for care home residents. 3) Complementary to the other objectives, develop new parameters of accelerometer data interpretation for remote monitoring elderly with application in e-health. Methods: the methodology developed by the research group of the Digital World Research Centre (DWRC) - "Keep, lose, change: Prompts for the re-design of product concepts"- will be applied in a focus group setting at a pilot study, in order to analyse the results of an innovative way and identify guidelines which could be considered applicable in apps for the elderly of different profiles and nationalities. The proponent of this project will learn new techniques of data analysis in both the DWRC and the partner Research Centre- Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing - in order to permit the achievement of the proposed objectives. The schedule will comprehend scientific meetings at the Digital World Research Centre with Professor David Frohlich research team, proficiency development in two techniques- (Keep, lose, change and Signal Feature Analysis), qualitative and signal from accelerometer sensor data analysis. Are also in the schedule: conference presentations and submission of papers. Note that the research groups has strong experience in data analysis and design, which is a gap in research centres in Brazil, and are crucial for the development of this project. The results may raise important information and content for the development of applications that are allies in the management of care, enabling the generation of potential products in e-health and functional assistance for the elderly. In addition, other important result is establishing collaboration for future exchange of students (PhD/Ms internships for instance) and researchers in both institutions. | |
