Abstract

Obesity is a heterogeneous disease with multiple causes conditions strongly associated with positive energy balance, this being due to increased caloric intake and decreased energy expenditure. This disease has many different treatments according to the degree of sickness of the patient. Among them, the surgical procedure has shown greater efficiency, such as higher levels of weight loss and improvements in comorbidities and clinical condition. However, micronutrient deficiencies are often found in patients undergoing the surgical procedure, as well as the weight regained in the immediate post-operative period is quite common in unattended patients. This project aims to analyze the nutritional status and dietary patterns of patients undergoing surgery 10 years after the procedure. Methods: Will be selected patients undergoing DGRY for over 10 years with follow-up at the Bariatric Surgery Clinic of the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto (HCFMRP-USP), being excluded those with modifications in surgical technique or lost follow-up.There will be collection and analysis of anthropometric data, dietary intake and biochemical tests in the pre- and postoperative, through the information contained in the medical records with subsequent anthropometric and body composition avaliation, blood collection equipment and assessment of dietary patterns of those patients who agree to participate. Statistical analysis will be performed by Kolmogorovi-Smirnov test, t-test and Fisher or chi-square test (p <0.05).
