Abstract

The society has been worried about the environment, especially due to the intense exploitation of natural resources, the large quantity of residues and their effects on the planet. In this context, the study and development of new construction systems and materials have become fundamental to make use of residues or products discarded by the population. An alternative is to recycle paper and use it to manufacture cardboard tubes to serve as structural elements in the Civil Construction. This research plan proposes the elaboration of a structural system design made of cardboard tubes to support vertical sealing panels, based on constructions made of cardboard tubes by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, Light Wood Framing (LWF) and Light Steel Framing (LSF) construction systems. The new structural system and its complements will create a request for patent. This study is of great relevance and necessity in the present conjuncture because it encourages the use of residues in the civil construction and contributes to minimize the exploration of the world's natural resources and the amount of landfills.
