Abstract

The conduction of sprouting strains is an interesting technique, ordinary and that reduces the production cost of eucalyptus plantations. However, the decreased of productivity from the first to the second production cycle has often been observed, and nutrients deficiency is one cause of this. Therefore, it would be of great importance front shortage of fertilization recommendations for the sprouting strains system, the study of extraction and export of nutrients in the conduct of eucalyptus sprouts, considering that this cultivation system the root system is already almost fully formed. Thus, the objective of this research will be quantify the biomass and partition of the extracted and exported nutrients, and to evaluate the effect of mineral fertilization doses in wood yield of one or two eucalyptus sprouts (clone I-144), in a sandy soil with low fertility of Três Lagoas - MS, Brazil. The experimental design will be in randomized block design with 8 treatments and 4 replications, in a factorial scheme 2x4, being: with one or two sprouts per strains in second cycle; four mineral fertilization doses (0, 50, 100 or 200% of the 200 kg ha-1 of the formula 06-30-06 +1% Ca +3% S +1% Mg +1.5% Cu +1% Zn, which is commonly applied in the region) applied immediately after the definition of sprouts. Each useful plot will have 49 plants. The following evaluations will be performed: analysis of soil chemical attributes; quantification of the total biomass of sprouts, leaves, branches, trunk wood and bark of the trunk of two representative trees per plot; nutritional diagnosis for calculating the macro and micronutrient accumulation of these mentioned biomasses and eucalyptus leaf litter above ground level, leaf chlorophyll content, plant height, diameter at breast height (DBH) and total volume of wood with bark.
