Abstract

Articles mentioning tuberculosis (TB) deaths are currently an important toll to understand the health systems critical points on the control of the disease and highlight the most vulnerable people. In this context, this paper aims to analyse the spatial distribution of TB deaths in Manaus/AM by Kernel intensity estimator, for identification and representation of the vulnerable geographical areas with potencial to the occurrence of this event. This is an ecological study, whose data relating to deaths from 2006 to 2014 will be obtained from the Mortality Information System (SIM). The census tracts defined by Census 2010, from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), will be analysed, exploring the data through measures of central tendency and frequency distribution, held in Statistica® software. With regard to spatial analysis, it will proceed firstly geocoding data in cartographic database using TerraView software version 4.2.2. Then, will be used the point density analysis technique- Kernel estimate Intensity- for identification and representation of the areas with the highest densities of deaths per Km2. The information manage and choropleth map elaboration will be held in ArcGIS version 10.1. The project will be submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Ribeirão Preto School of Nursing, University of São Paulo in compliance with Resolution # 466/2012, from the National Health Council.
