Abstract

Ethanol production and the pulp bleaching process generates large amounts of agro-industrial waste, by setting risk to the environment when disposed of improperly. The large amount of organic matter and the acidic pH of the vinasse along with alkalinity and toxicity of the pulp industry effluent are some of the factors that characterize it as pollutants. Thus, practices that seek to reuse these wastes can contribute to environmental sustainability, among them stands out the possibility of using these residues in the production of enzymes, a process that can also ensure reduction in costs of obtaining this important biotech product. The aim of this study is to optimize the production of ²-glucanase using the fungus Aspergillus niger by means of submerged liquid fermentation, in an orbital shaker, using vinasse and alkaline effluent obtained in the second the pulp bleaching stage, donate by industries the state of São Paulo. To the culture medium described in the literature will be added to vinasse and alkaline effluent which will change their concentrations, and other cultivation parameters, such as pH, incubation temperature and agitation speed. The results will be obtained by determining the concentration of total protein, ²-glucanase activity, specific activity calculation; statistical analysis will be performed by factorial design. This study aims to contribute to the development of sustainable biotechnological processes can reverse agro-industrial waste in new technologies of production of enzyme. (AU)
