Abstract In this postdoctoral project, we propose to study various aspects of the ABJM model, and its relation to condensed matter theory. We want to understand M2-M5 systems in M theory via fluctuations around the fuzzy sphere solution of ABJM. The ABJM model can be applied for quantum criticality and compressible Fermi surfaces. Wewill calculate the viscosity over entropy density from a membrane paradigm calculation at the horizon of a black hole in the gravity dual. We will study how to extract various effective abelian models from ABJM that can be applied to condensed matter systems, and the condensed matter interpretation of the fuzzy sphere background. We will also study the algebra of Cuntz oscillators applied for spin chains for ABJM. (AU) | |
