Abstract

According to World Health Organization (WHO), the practice of Physic Activity (PA) may play a critical role in healthy aging with a good quality of life (QL). The QL is an important component for determining the state of health, especially during the aging process. Once older people start to attend AF programs, it is essential to know the reasons for their participation, thus making it possible raising strategies to create more programs and methods that encourage the people in the accession of a healthy lifestyle. Thus, this project aims to know the reasons for participation and perception of QL of elderly participants of Exercise Program (EF). It is an almost experimental research, longitudinal, quantitative, controlled, and multidimensional. They will be assessed 10 individuals assiduous to the EF program (> 75% attendance in class) with at least one month of participation in the program. The EF program will last 10 months, with training sessions twice a week. For evaluation, will be used a semi structured interview on the perception of QL and an open questionnaire about reasons of participation and satisfaction with the program, carried out earlier in the (October) and after one month of participation (November). It will be held descriptive analysis of the reasons for participation and discourse analysis of the perception of quality of life of the participants. It is also expected that the responses to structured interview regarding QL and program effects have positive changes after a month of EF practice. (AU)
