Abstract

Success in implantology is achieved by the combination of biomechanical factors and has been observed increasing in researches about dental implants, involving different materials, shapes, lengths, diameters and techniques. This study will compare three diameters of dental implants (4.3 mm, 3.75 mm and 3.5 mm), with internal tri-channel connection triangle (Bioneck), and evaluate the corresponding mechanical properties relative to resistance insertion torque, with microscopic characterization and fractures analysis, fracture resistance and fatigue resistance, with accelerated fatigue tests and simulation of use. Therefore, 225 dental implants will be used (tri-channel connection) (Dérig Bioneck, Dérig Barueri, SP, Brazil), with 13 mm in length and three diameters (4.3 mm, 3.75 mm and 3.5 mm ). For resistance insertion torque tests, each type of implant will be divided randomly into four groups (n=10), according to the specific torques: GT45: 45 N.cm; GT80: 80 N.cm; GT120: 120 N.cm; GT150: 150 N.cm. For the fracture resistance test, metal cylinders will be drilled perpendicular with the respective diameters of the implants and implants/abutments sets will be brought to mechanical testing machine (EMIC DL 2000 São José dos Pinhais, PR, Brazil), with an angle of 30 degrees, shift of 1 mm/min and 500 kgf load, until failure or when there is greater displacement than 3 mm. The samples will be again submitted to light microscopy and, just a few, to the SEM. For the fatigue strength, the samples will be divided into: cyclic mechanical fatigue test and use of simulation test. The sets (n=10) will be submitted to the cyclic test (5 Hz, 5°C-55°C, loads of 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240, 280 and 320N, with a maximum of 20,000 cycles) and loaded to until failure or to a maximum of 140,000 cycles. The fatigue strength of the groups will be compared by survival analysis "life table survival analysis". For simulation of use, the sets (n=12) will be submitted to 1,000,000 cycles (2 Hz, 120 N and 5°C-55°C) and, again, brought to optical and SEM microscopy, as described above. Data normality will be tested, with a 95% significance level. Post hoc analysis will be made with the appropriate tests.
