Abstract

The aim of this study is to compare the fracture resistance of cemented and screwed implant crown restorations after cyclic fatigue loading. The null hypothesis is that no influence of the fatigue test is seen the fracture resistance values. Screwed crowns will be made on burnout abutments with Ni-Cr overcasting alloys that will receive a feldspatic veneering porcelain. In this modality, the all-ceramic crowns will be combined with zirconium CAD/CAM abutments and zirconium veneering ceramic. All crowns will be screwed to 32Ncm, sealed with gutta-percha and light-cured resin. On the other hand, the cemented crowns will be made with ceramic and burnout abutments that will receive their respective complete crowns. Each group (cemented. screwed) will have experimental and control samples, summing up to 40 samples. The control samples will be subjected to compression until failure, and the experimental ones will be cyclic loaded before fracture. The intra and intergroup values will be compared with a Student’s t test (parametric data) and the Mann-Whitney test (non-parametric data). (AU)
