Abstract

With the increasing population and also the demand for food, the agricultural sector is increasingly expanding, requiring techniques and studies that incorporate the new technologies and increase production. Poultry, being a high representative sector in the production of meat and also to be responsible for another protein source of great importance in food, the egg is one of the sectors of agriculture with great emphasis on the development of targeted technologies to optimize the production. Therefore, the number of studies focused on this area is very large, and is of utmost importance to define the outlines, so that the results are increasingly reliable and also optimize costs. Increasing the number of repetitions there is a great improvement in the reliability of the results, but this increase makes them more costly experiments, then being a limiting factor. In addition, besides the high costs in maintenance, bioethical issues and animal welfare have driven the search to reduce the number of animals in experimentation, which can even invalidate the results, if the number of samples and plot size is lower than recommended. In general, the tests made with low accuracy make incorrect conclusions the researchers to obtain results, and lack of information has made enormous problem for zootechnical experiment. The goal of the project is to estimate the optimal sizes of experimental plot and sample in order to guide the researcher as to the accuracy of the data from your search.
