Abstract
The experiment will be conducted in the poultry laying the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UNESP - Botucatu, in the period from 19/11/2010 to 10/03/2011, using 384 hens of Isa Brown strain with weeks of age, distributed in a completely randomized in a 2x3 factorial, with two types of corn (dent and flint) and three particle sizes (602.08, 784.86 and 1166.19 for durum wheat and 612.95, 831.23, 1230, 05 toothed grain) with eight replications of eight birds per plot, totaling 48 plots, the experiment will have a total of 112 days divided into four periods of 28 days. At the end of each period will be made to collect two whole eggs per plot during two consecutive days for evaluation of egg quality variables. The rations will be formulated in accordance with the requirements of the strain. The GMD of the particles will be determined before the experimental period. Will be evaluated productive performance (feed intake, feed conversion, egg weight, percentage of eggs cracked and broken, viability, egg mass), egg quality (percentage of shell, shell thickness, specific gravity, shell strength breakage, color of the yolk, percentage of yolk and albumen and Haugh units) and consumption of energy expended in the grinding process. The data will be submitted to variance analysis using the program's resources SISVAR and means compared by SNK test at 5% probability. (AU)
