Abstract

The development of alternative technologies aimed at increasing the availability and efficient use of mineral resources for the plants appear as an important measure to achieve sustainable agricultural growth. In this context, the supply of nitrogen by biological means using diazotrophic micro-organisms, of which the most studied are the rhizobia associated symbiotically legumes, it is an important alternative. But the success achieved with this symbiosis in legumes has not yet been reached in other plant families, mainly limitations associated with optimization of plant-bacteria combinations. In grasses diazotrophic endophytes have been used as inoculant, with controversial results. However, it is possible that microorganisms diazotrophic epiphytic may have greater adaptive advantage due to lower specificity in relation to the plant, and be more efficient in non-leguminous plants. This study aims to evaluate the effect of an inoculant made from isolated diazotrophs of phyllosphere in growing corn and tomato. Tests will be carried out in greenhouse conditions, using three different diazotrophs encapsulated in alginate beads under different levels of nitrogen fertilization. The efficiency of the isolates in fixing nitrogen will be assessed by the nitrogenase activity. The populations of rhizosphere diazotrophic be determined by the most probable number (MPN) at the end of the test. Also parameters such as biomass of shoot and root, stem diameter, root architecture and concentration of macro and micronutrients in the leaves will be analyzed. The data will be submitted to analysis of variance, and the averages of the variables were compared by Tukey test (p <0.05) using the statistical program R. (AU)
