Abstract

Syphilis is an ancient sexually transmitted disease with increasing prevalence in Brazil. Syphilis in pregnant women (SP) and congenital syphilis (CS) are related to inadequate treatment, gestational age, stage of disease, immune response of the fetus, socioeconomic and cultural conditions, and its increasing prevalence mainly in the state of São Paulo. In view of the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the Pontal do Paranapanema, this study aims to evaluate the distribution of SG and SC in the municipalities of Pontal and vulnerability of this region as the prevalence of syphilis. Data will be collected on the prevalence of SG and SC in the years 2007 to 2013, from the portal of the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), separated by municipalities and subsequently plotted in scatter plots for a specific software.
