Abstract

Heat treatments in protein sources are performed to overcome the limitations as loss of intrinsic quality of the protein that causes deleterious consequences for the metabolism of the animals. Thus, understanding the influence of different digestibilities of energy is of utmost importance. The objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that digestible energy (DE) and metabolizable energy (ME) in full fat soybeans is improved by proper heat treatment. A total of 21 barrows (initial BW: 20-40 kg) will be randomly allotted to a triplicated 7 x 3 Youden square with the 7 diets and 3 periods. They will be housed individually in metabolism crates and Will be evaluate six sources of full fat soybeans (FFSB) subjected to various heat treatments. Feed consumption will be recorded daily and pigs will be fed for 14 days. The initial 7 days will be considered the adaptation period to the diet, whereas urine and fecal material will be collected. Following analysis, the apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of GE and DM will be calculated for each diet, and the DE and ME in each diet will be calculated as well. The results obtained during the permanence of the scholar on the internship will be presented in the final report, in form of descriptions, figures and tables to demonstrate the data. (AU)
