Abstract

With population growth increased demand for food is inevitable and as a result there is a need to increase production quickly and effectively food and in this context the application of irrigation techniques with increasing water use efficiency is key. The Noroeste Paulista has the highest evapotranspiration rates in the State of São Paulo and so irrigation is an indispensable technology for optimum yield potential of crops, and the spray method by center pivot system is the one with the most expressive irrigated area in this region. Even irrigated agriculture is recognized by its multiplier effects However, as the demand for water in agriculture is great, it raises questions as to its real importance and need, therefore study and collect data on irrigated agriculture, when it is the amount equipment, development of adherence by producers and socio-economic importance is essential to assist in the management of water resources and this study aimed to continue the work of identifying the areas irrigated by center pivot in the Hydrographic Basins of Turvo / Grande, São José dos Dourados and the right bank of the Lower Tiete, incorporating new areas from July 2015 to December 2016, using remote sensing tools such as ArcGIS software to identify the areas and establishment of the relational database, and the SAFER algorithm to estimate the current evapotranspiration throughout the region, and also to quantify the socio-economic importance of these areas throughout the Paulista Northwest.
