Abstract

Organophosphate pesticides are very effective, widely used, and pose great risk to the environment and health of many organisms, including humans. Dichlorvos (DDVP) is an organophosphate pesticide and these have mutagenic and carcinogenic potential for humans. Many pesticides, such as DDVP, may alter endocrine homeostasis, acting via the androgen receptor (AR) or via estrogen receptors (ER) promoting endocrine and reproductive disorders such as inflammation and prostate cancer. Therefore, evaluate the molecular markers of inflammation is essential to elucidate the paper of inflammation in prostate carcinogenesis. Thus, the present study aims to evaluate the expression of Toll-Like Receptor 4 (Tlr4) in the rat prostate subjected to chemically induced by MNU associated with pesticide dichlorvos. (AU)
