Abstract

Clinical trials in healthy subjects demonstrate that moderate intensity training reduces adhesiveness and platelet agregability at rest and in response to intense physical exercise. Although recent evidence has shown a significant reduction in the recurrence of cardiovascular events with the use of new and more potent antiplatelet agents in coronary patients, its percentage is not negligible, which reinforces the need for additional measures to further decrease these rates. The assessment of platelet aggregation in patients with post-AMI who underwent assisted physical training may clarify the role of exercise in modulating it. (AU)
