Abstract

This research aims to contribute to a better knowledge of musical working memory, identifying components that allow its characterization and improvement, especially under first listening. It is proposed in this work to achieving a mapping of musical memory approaches in scientific literature, considering its interdependence and impact on working memory. From the mapping results, this research seeks the resemblance between the chunking and the grouping concepts, its boundaries and pertinence on first listening, hence, their contribution to improvement in encoding, storage and recall processes.
