Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of training Slalom canoeing athletes during the Olympic year, on the physiological responses, autonomic and mood states (POMS) as well as monitoring the training and its relationship to performance. Fifteen elite paddlers aged 18-28 years, who train systematically and participate in national and international competitions at least three years. All evaluations shall be carried out in the Olympic year, the total period of evaluation understood six weeks. Initially will take two days and the first day for the athletes respond questionnaire profile of mood (POMS), autonomic parameters by heart rate variability (HRV) and anaerobic parameters by testing ten x 10s and the second day intended to perform simulated test to determine the performance, it is monitored subsequent to the training for a period of six weeks. All the variables analyzed in the study will be collected beginning again after this period. All data are presented as mean ± standard deviation. Initially the normality and homogeneity of the data will be confirmed with the Shapiro-Wilk and Levene tests, respectively. Student's t test for dependent samples and graphical analysis of Bland & Altman will be used to compare the test results ten x 10s, HRV and performance before and after training. The associations between HRV parameters, monitoring, training and performance will be verified with the Pearson correlation and graphical analysis of Bland & Altman
