Abstract The relatively new formalism of Pure Spinors for superstrings has proven to excel in tasks where the previous Ramond-Neveu-Schwarz and Green-Schwarz descriptions have failed or are not as good as they can be; however, some problems remain open in this approach. This research project tries to shed light in some of these problems, in particular, the ones concerning its geometric aspects. We have divided the project in two parts that can be worked out in parallel; the first part will try find a more symmetric formulation for the Pure Spinor action for curved backgrounds between matter and ghost fields, and the second part is intended to do perturbation theory (one-loop computation of beta functions) for a new "untwisted" version of the Pure Spinor action also on curved backgrounds. | |
