Abstract

Nanoscience is an area of knowledge, relatively recent, whose application has enabled major advances in different disciplines. In materials science the development of new nano scale materials could show physical and chemical properties quite different from those observed to the "Bulk." The breakthrough in the development of techniques to understand these phenomena is essential to design of new materials. In this way scattering and spectroscopic techniques allow monitoring the temporal evolution of morphology, short and long range structure in nucleation and growth processes, according to various activation mechanisms such as temperature, pressure, radiation or chemical environment changes. At this moment the brazilian govenment is building a new synchrotron light source which requires human material in globally competitive research. In that sense this research proposal provides the study of in situ nucleation and growth of nanoparticles assited by X-ray Scattering and X-Ray absoriton (SAXS/ WAXS and XAS) and Uv-Vis spectroscopy at a hight level synchrotron light laboratory in a research station dedicated to the study of time dependent morphological and structural changes.
