Abstract

This research aims to make a formal study about José Saramago's literary production, in the perspective of intersection of genders literaries, more specific, epic and dramatic. It seeks, through this, a better understanding of dramatics mechanisms mobilized by the author in the construction of the scenes in your novels. This, certainly, are high points in his romance. Therefore, it is intended analyze scenes of two novels of the author, O evangelho segundo Jesus Cristo and Ensaio sobre a cegueira, representative by dramatic, for understand how Saramago develops in these the dialogicity and tension, pillars of dramas. This research yet have for object trace an relation between dramatic scenes in your novels and your theatrical production. As auxiliaries in this challenge was selected six novels by author, will be extracted specific scenes, as classical production about of genders theory like The Epic Theatre by Anatol Rosenfeld and Basic Concepts of Poetics by Emil Staiger.
