Abstract

The area of technology and communication is growing, along with the number of people using this technology to communicate, mainly through mobile phones. These technologies encompass diverse fields such as social, educational, entertainment and health. Aim: To evaluate the perceived competence that health professionals have for the use of technology as a form of health promotion. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and qualitative study, which will be carried out in Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, with health professionals about their attitude towards and competence to use technology aimed at health promotion through questionnaires and as well interviews. Discourse analysis will be performed. Expected results: Health professionals are expected to view technology as a way to encourage physical activity and that in the future, they can become adept at using, bringing more benefits to people and improving their health.
