Abstract

The main goal of this study will be the in vitro comparison of XP EndoFinisher and the ultrasonic passive irrigation (whether or not associatedwith EDTA) on microorganisms and endotoxins within flat radicular rootcanal. Sixty inferior incisive teeth with isthmus will be infected withmicroorganisms for 28 days and instrumented using the R40 systemassociated to 15Ml of a saline physiological solution. The preparation willbe done in thirds (cervical, medium and apical), with 5mL being destinedto each radicular third. After the instrumentation, the teeth will be split ingroups according to the final cleaning technique (n=12): EDTA - Rootcanal fill with EDTA andstirring with manual instrument; XP ENDO - Rootcanal fill with 2.5% NaOCl and passive ultrasonic irrigation; EDTA + XPENDO - 2.5% NaOCl protocol associated to EDTA and stirring with XP Endofinisher; PUI + EDTA - 2.5% NaOCl protocol associated to EDTA andpassive ultrasonic stirring. The samples will be collected after 28 days ofinfection (confirmation collection - S1), immediately after the instrumentation(second collection - S2), after the different final cleaning protocols (thirdcollection - S3) and 7 days after the final cleaning protocols (fourthcollection - S5). The results will be submitted to the Kruskal-Wallis andDunn tests, with significance level of 5%.
