Abstract

This exploratory study aims to investigate the expansion of private education on the suburban areas of São Paulo, most precisely in the East Zone of the city. It is our aim to analyze the geographical and chronological survey data of schools, as well as interviews of the founders/managers of private schools to understand this schooling demand since the beginning of the twentieth century.
