Abstract

Insides the Neotropics, the Brazilian Atlantic Forest is one of the most diverse and threatened due to the high fragmentation and deforestation. Although it had been largely destroied, taking serious risks to the survival of many species, the Atlantic forest refuge many fungi species, which still unexplored by the taxonomic view. Among the Polyporales, the Trichaptum genre includes species featured by resupinate to pileate bvasidiocarps, with a variable hymenophore that can be irpicoid, lamellate or with pores and microscopically recognized by the dimitic hyphal system, cylindrical basidiospores and presente cystidia. They are all saprophytes and causes a with rot. Within the twenty described species for the genre, nine have been registered in Brazil and just one of them has been used as a neotropical model based on actual phylogenetic hypotheses for the genre. This project intends to analyse the ohylogenetic study of the Trichaptum genre that occurs on the Atlantic Forest of São Paulo, emphasing on morfologic and molecular characters (ITS and LSU), establishing taxonomical characteristics for identification and diagnoses of species.
