Abstract

The purpose of this study is the grafting of Ti7.5Mo alloy after TiO2 nanotubes growth. Ti7.5Mo alloy will be processed in arc melting furnace with argon atmosphere. Anodic oxidation will be carried out to obtain TiO2 nanotubes on the Ti7.5Mo alloy surface. Subsequently, bioactive polymers bearing sulfonate [styrene sodium sulfonate (NaSS)] will be deposited by radical polymerization at 70 ºC in the absence of oxygen. The grafted surfaces will be evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angles, X-rays diffraction (XRD), toluidine blue (AT). In vitro studies will be performed to evaluate the biological response and bacteria adhesion after surface modification. (AU)
