Abstract

This project aims to synthesize magnetic nanoparticles of ferrites with general formula Mn(1-x)ZnxFe2O4 by coprecipitation method to be used in the diagnosis of cancer by alternating current biosensitisation (BAC). Such a technique was initially used to study the gastric functions that requires magnetic materials as a tracer. In this work the magnetic compound will be prepared by varying the proportions of manganese and zinc (x) in order to optimize its magnetic property. It will be characterized by physical techniques, namely X-ray diffractometry (XRD) with structural refinement (Rietveld method), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), infrared spectroscopy, electrophoretic mobility (zeta potential) and magnetic susceptibility measurements, correlating the variables of the synthesis, results of the structural characterizations and the magnetic responses.
