Abstract

In the global context, the justifications for legitimizing the ineffectiveness of policies and strategies to deal with hunger are to some extent unbelievable, especially when the profit from hunger prevails. What strategies and responses on the part of the civilian population face this problem through the recognition of quality, territoriality, security and food sovereignty? In this research, we propose a reticular approach to the so-called "alternative" experiences, using the concept of Alternative Food Networks (AFN). However, we assume as a procedural method the comparative analysis between two cities (Curitiba-Brazil and Medellín-Colombia), to address thus the AFN's through the production of urban space, which is dynamized from the spaces of consumption and, methodologically addressing the oppositions and contradictions, dependencies and complementarities of two dialectical pairs: the dominant agri-food system and the Alternative Agrifood Networks and the insertion of these in the circuits of urban economy. This in order to analyze how this type of networks can from a differentiated consumption, reorganize the distribution-marketing circuits, as well as the same circuit of production in a territorial continuity.
