Abstract

The objective of this study will be to determine the serum proteinogram of cattle submitted to orchiectomy with or without the administration of triamcinolone. Twenty male bovine, healthy, crossbreed, aged between 18 and 24 months, were submitted to bilateral orchiectomy using the double incision technique parallel to the median raphe and were randomly and numerically divided (10 animals) into two groups (G1 and G2), and the animals of G2 will receive Acetonide of Triancinlone at the dose of 0.05 mg / kg IM shortly before the surgical procedure. Blood samples will be collected in tubes with and without EDTA to determine the concentration of plasmatic fibrinogen and other proteins of the acute phase at moments T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5and T6, being T0 before the surgical procedure and the others each 24 hours. The values off ibrinogen will be obtained using the thermal precipitation technique. Serum total protein values will be obtained by spectrophotometry for the separation of serum proteins by electrophoretic fractionation on sodium dodecyl sulfate-containing polyacrylamide gel (SDS-PAGE). To the values obtained will be calculated the means that will be compared by the Tukey test (pd0.05), with the aid of SAEG (1993) (AU)
